As a member of the vibrant and diverse Indonesian community, we take our social responsibilities seriously.
Each year, M&T sponsors the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, in order to assist the winner of the Indonesian national round to participate in the international finals in Washington, D.C. M&T lawyers regularly participate in various moot court competitions (including the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot, the Willem C. Vis Commercial Arbitration Moot, and the International Humanitarian Law Moot) as judges, coaches or team advisors. M&T lawyers also contribute their time teaching at various universities in the greater Jakarta area. Since 2010, every semester, M&T has also collaborated with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in a blood donor program.
In 2010, we participated in the Angel of Change program run by Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa, which aims to inspire individuals and companies in Indonesia to invest in the education of less fortunate Indonesian children.
We are also very concerned about the preservation of Indonesia’s environment. M&T has donated and planted trees along the main road of Kebon Jeruk sub-district in West Jakarta, and in 2012 we assisted the Bali Sea Turtles Society, an organization whose aim is to save sea turtles from extinction, by donating funds and releasing baby turtles on Kuta beach, Bali.
In 2013 M&T donated to the Yogyakarta Nature Conservation Foundation (YKAY), a non-governmental, non-profit organization for the conservation of Indonesian wildlife and holds a wildlife park permit named The Wildlife Rescue Centre Jogja (WRCJ).
On 30 September 2017, members of the M&T team visited SD & MI Khairiyah in Koja, North Jakarta for CSR activities. The CSR theme this time was “We Care, We Share” in which we encourage the students to optimize their library as a place for reading books and sharing knowledge. We also motivate them to learn English in a fun way whereby the activities involved all the students, and included solving puzzles, storytelling, sing-along, and fun conversations. M&T also donated books, a printer, some computers and air-conditioning to SD & MI Khairiyah and everyone had a good time.
