Maria Sagrado Speaks at the IBA Conference on The Fundamentals of International Legal Business Practice
Our Partner, Maria Sagrado, was one of the speakers at the International Bar Association Conference held at the Grand Hyatt Jakarta on 3 August 2018. Presented by the IBA Asia Pacific Regional Forum, IBA Young Lawyers’ Committee, and PERADI, this year’s conference centered on The Fundamentals of International Legal Business Practice.
Maria, together with Dr. Edmon Makarim from the Faculty of Law of the University of Indonesia, and Ilia Putilin from the Asian International Arbitration Centre, Kuala Lumpur talked about “E-commerce – what legal measures to consider when a deal in e-commerce goes wrong”. The session was moderated by Mark Gilligan from Squire Patton Boggs, Abu Dhabi. Maria specifically talked about FinTech regulations in Indonesia. Other distinguished speakers presented timely topics, including M&A: fundamental issues to M&A transaction; the future for Indonesian lawyers; international arbitration or alternative dispute resolution; and bankruptcy in Indonesia and Asian countries and bankruptcy law: its application and what lawyers need to know.
The event was attended by legal professionals from Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.
